For this week, our task is to choose an advertisement and discuss about it. So I choose a creative campaign advertisement from Zaini( a chocolate brand).

Love the advertisement that express in a cute and funny method.




Their tagline, “Kofli, chocolate with coffee inside.”

1. Who are the communicators?

The communicators of this advertisement is Zaini. They hires the advertising agency(Leo Burnett) to creates this advertisement and send their message to the public through a creative advertisement hoping that it can grab the public attention and attract people to buy it.

2. What product or service is being advertised?

The product being advertise is a chocolate brand by Zaini. They use cute animal character with a huge popping eye to advertise their product, with the tagline below “Kofli, chocolate with coffee inside” in order to give more information about the product-which means there is surprise in the chocolate.

3. What are the demographic and psycho graphic characteristics of the audience at which the advertisement is aimed?

This kind of advertisement can be publish in many kind of way. So the range of audience is wide. It mainly targeted to chocolate lover that like coffee too,or perhaps anyone that enjoy chocolate that is mix with other ingredients.

4. Which needs and gratifications are addressed in the advertisement?

The gratifications and needs in this ad might not be very clear.But, this is the way I see and interpret it:The advertisement shown is for those who wanted to have a snack or sweet to wake them up during the boring moment.The clue is the exaggerating popping eye and the tagline below-
“Kofli, chocolate with coffee inside”


5. Do the Non-verbal cues in the picture contribute to the non – verbal message?

Yes, the picture contribute to the non verbal message which with the pictures that show the animals (
(chicken, fish and rabbit) that is made from chocolate eye popped out after they add in the coffee as one of the ingredient.But without the tagline below, it is quite hard for consumer to figure out the message Zaini wish to bring out.

1. The communicator is Zaini, great and humorous ads for Italian chocolate brand.

2. The little round balls of chocolate filled with coffee is being advertised.

3. The target audience of this advertisement are children, chocolate lover and coffee lover.

4. The main needs and gratifications don't addressed in the advertisement. But the funny and creative idea shows the traditional chocolate figurines made with the "bulging" eyes, as the effect of caffeine and with the tagline, 'Kofli, chocolate with coffee inside". It promote the chocolate with coffee inside and it made people smile and have a good day when eat their chocolate.

5. Yes, we can see a chicken, fish and rabbit made with chocolate and with the white chocolate for the eyes in the advertisment. It remind us just how stimulating such a snack can be, we’re shown images of standard chocolate easter animals with eyes bugged out as if they’re all hopped up on caffeine. If only one could really buy these caffeinated chocolate animals.

Who is the communicator? Yup, this post had mentioned that Zaini, a chocolate brand is the communicator of the advertisement. It also shown that hires a good advertising agency is important in creating a nice, creative and interesting advertisement so it will grab people attention.

Since Zaini is a brand of chocolate, for sure the advertisement is to promote their chocolate. However, they add in a tagline in the advertisement to let viewer to understand more about their products.

Based on the advertisement, the target audience of this advertisement is children or chocolate lover.

Whoever want to have the same feeling of the animals (the eyes expression) can have a Zaini Chocolate with coffee inside. The funny expression of the animals and the animals'eyes can bring out an hidden message. It may want to let viewer to know how it will feel after having the chocolate.

Yes. There have non verbal message. From the advertisement, we can straight away saw the chicken, fish and rabbit made by chocolate!But i agreed to yanshan. It is hard to see what the advertisement's message without a tagline. Therefore, sometimes tagline played an important role for an advertisement.

1)Communicator is Zaini, which can be identified easily from the logo of the ads.

2)Dessert and snack products are being advertised.

3)The advertisement is targeted most probably to chocolate lover and children.

4)I agree with Yan Shan here. The needs and gratifications are not clearly stated in the ad. However, the advertisement shown is to enriched childrens’ life by bringing them happiness and sweetness.(can be seen through various type of animals cartoon chocolate).

5)From my opinion, I can understand what Zaini is trying to interpret. The non-verbal message of the picture which shows the animals (chicken, fish and rabbit) are being made from chocolate. This is to attract the attention of children and conveys the message that chocolate can be made into many forms and cartoons nowadays. Chocolate is no longer be in square or rectangular shape.
